Our Purpose

Sarah’s Fight for Hope Foundation (SFFH), a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit driven by dedicated volunteers, our mission is clear: to provide financial assistance, uplifting gifts to patients, and advocate for support for childhood cancer.
We are committed to alleviating the financial burdens faced by families, bringing joy and hope to children through thoughtful gifts, and championing the cause of pediatric cancer awareness and support.
Through our targeted programs and unwavering advocacy, we aim to improve the lives of children battling cancer and inspire our community to join us in making a meaningful difference.

The Facts

The types of cancers that develop in children are often distinct from those that develop in adults. Childhood cancers are often the result of DNA (gene) changes in cells that take place very early in life, sometimes even before birth. Unlike many cancers in adults, childhood cancers are not strongly linked to lifestyle or environmental risk factors.

*Cancer in Children and Adolescents: New cases and deaths in 2025
  • An estimated 9,550 children (ages 0 to 14 years) and 5,140 adolescents (ages 15-19 years) will be diagnosed with cancer,
  •  1,050 children and 600 adolescents will die from the disease
  • Cancer is the leading disease-related cause of death among both children and adolescents.
  • The most common cancers in children and adolescents are leukemia (28% and 13%, respectively); brain, including benign and borderline malignant tumors (27% and 22%); and lymphoma (12% and 19%).
  • Many early signs and symptoms of childhood and adolescent cancer include nonspecific symptoms shared by common childhood conditions, which can challenge timely diagnosis.
  • Cancers that occur during childhood or adolescence have few established risk factors, and most are thought to be due to random gene mutations without an external cause
